I like to stroll around with small bags in summer, in lightness, carrying only my essentials. It is from this desire that Menuet, the last Sacôtin pattern was born.
{Menuet} Small shoulder bag pattern
Menuet is a small urban bag, compact and lightweight, to carry your essentials.
Its clean lines will adapt to all styles depending on the fabrics you pick. Chic, bohemian, rock : your choice !
Menuet is also practical with an adjustable shoulder strap, a closure secured by twist lock and two zippered pockets: one at the back of the bag and one in the lining.
The pattern includes 2 versions, one rounded and the other rectangular. The two different flap shapes can be associated with either of the bag bodies, for 4 possible variations.
The flap is ideal to highlight this designer fabric that you kept preciously.
Menuet dimensions : width 20 cm (8″), height 15 cm (6″), depth 5 cm (2″).
If you choose to sew Menuet in faux-leather, pleather or vinyl, I advise you to make the rectangular version #2, stiff fabrics will not have the best finish on the rounded version #1.
Beware, addictive !
Because it requires little fabric, is sewn in half a day and allows to have fun with colors and prints, it is very difficult to stop at a single Menuet.
I have sewn a dozen and I only have 3 remaining : 2 that I kept as “archives” and one that I kept for myself 🙂 (the one in crocodile pleather and octopus print)! The others were snatched offered to friends, my niece, my mother-in-law and my daughter…
The testers sewed 28 Menuet !
