Many of you asked for a weekender bag pattern, so here is Boston, a unisex weekender bag pattern!
Good news never comes alone, and I am pleased to announce that supply kits for the Boston bag and available at the online store “La Mercerie des Créateurs”. See below.
{Boston} Weekender bag pattern
Boston is a weekender bag with with a unisex silhouette. It is therefore easily adaptable to woman, man, classic-chic or girly versions. The style of your Boston bag will depend on your choice of fabrics: let your creativity speak!
Fabrics of the showcased Boston bag
Fabrics, rings, lobster clasps and zippers all come from La Mercerie des Créateurs.
- I chose a chocolate “toile à sac” (bag canvas). This canvas is of very good quality, has a perfect hold for this type of bag (no interfacing needed) and is water repellent.
- In contrast, I chose this turquoise cotton canvas with large white polka dots, interfaced as directed, and to which I also applied fusible fleece.
- And finally for the lining, a turquoise cotton of excellent quality and which thickness is perfect as a bag lining.
3 zipped pockets
The bag has two external side pockets for quick access to your essentials and a large inner pocket where to put underwears and socks for example.
Carry it by hand or over the shoulder
Dimensions of the Boston weekender bag: length 45 cm (18″), depth 20 cm (8″), height 30 cm (12″). The Boston bag size makes it a perfect hand luggage in aircraft. Boston is carried by hand or over the shoulder thanks to its removable shoulder strap.
