Biguine is a zippered summer bag pattern, with 6 pockets and in 2 sizes.

New : The Biguine pattern is supplied with a specific additional file for use with a sewing pattern projector.

Biguine, a zippered & stripped summer bag pattern

Biguine is a zippered summer bag, with stripes for a nod to the French navy style.
A version of Biguine without stripes is also included.

Biguine : 6 pockets and 2 sizes !

Biguine has two-tone handles and 6 pockets to store everything neatly :

• 3 patch pockets on the front for quick access to sunglasses, tissues, masks, gel,…
• 3 pockets inside: 1 bellows pocket and 1 very large zippered pocket which hides a 2nd smaller zippered pocket to store the items you want to keep safe (keys, phone,…).

The pattern includes 2 sizes : Medium for a walk in town and Large for a trip to the beach. The photos below will help you visualize these sizes.

• Biguine Medium : base width 30 cm (11 7/8″), top width 45 cm (17 3/4″) x Hight 30 cm (12″) x Depth 15 cm (5 7/8″)
• Biguine Large : base width 35 cm (13 3/4″), top width 50 cm (19 3/4″) x Hight 34 cm (13 3/8″) x Depth 15 cm (5 7/8″)

Level

• The striped version is an intermediate level.
• The version without stripes is an advanced beginner level.
• And for a simplified version you can completely forgo the outside pockets for a good basic zippered bag, faster to sew.

Few supplies needed !

I deliberately wanted a summer pattern that didn’t require much supplies : besides the fabrics, the only essential supplies for Biguine are 3 zippers!

You can of course add bag feet for a more “boutique” finish, as indicated and explained as an option in the instructions.

• Silver zippers from Prym
