Calypso is a modern bucket bag pattern, a true chameleon that adapts to the seasons and styles according to your choice of fabrics.
{Calypso} Bucket bag pattern
The Calypso bucket bag pattern is an advanced-beginner level sewing pattern.
The main difficulties are related to the lining zippered pocket (which may be omitted) and the choice of thick fabrics such as faux-leather, which is to be reserved for intermediate level seamstress and up. True beginners should rather use cotton and cotton canvas.
For convenience, speed and diversity, options are included in the pattern to replace the home-sewn shoulder strap with a store bought strap (webbing,…).
The classic shape of the bucket bag is modernized through the use of belt loops instead of conventional eyelets and the choice of a rectangular bottom for the bag.
To keep you organized, the lining includes a partitioned pocket and a zippered pocket.
