Haka, the compartmentalized bag duo
Haka is a coordinated compartmentalized bag duo, for men or unisex.
The Medium size is a messenger bag for A4+ format documents, while the Small size is a vertical city bag.
The bags close with a zipper and a flap with magnetic snap(s).
With their 4 pockets, your belongings will be easily organized :
- one patch pocket in the lining
- one zippered pocket in the lining
- a central zippered divider pocket compartmentalizes the interior space
- a zippered pocket hidden by the flap at the back of the bag

- Haka Small (vertical city bag) : width 22 cm (8 5/8″) x height 25 cm (10″) x depth 9 cm (3 1/2″).
- Haka Medium (messenger bag for 4+ documents) : width 36 cm (14″) x height 30 cm (12″) x depth 12 cm (4 3/4″).
Level of the Haka bag
The testers of the Haka bag pattern are fairly evenly split across 3 levels: “Between beginner and intermediate”, “Intermediate” and “Between intermediate and advanced”.
So I chose the middle ground and gave it the “Intermediate” level.
Videos !
I filmed and edited 2 videos to help you sew your Haka bag.
They show the assembly, without audio commentary, of the Haka bag in size Small. You will need to refer to the PDF for the specifics of the Medium size, but the assembly technique remains the same.
So I presented the Haka assembly in 2 videos:
- the 1st for assembling the exterior of the bag,
- the 2nd for the assembly of the lining and the finishing.
The videos have chapters for quick access to the part of the assembly you want to see.
Bonus gift: free removable strap pad pattern
For the wearing comfort of the Medium size, I highly recommend using a shoulder strap pad !
Also I created a free pattern for a removable shoulder strap pad to comfortably wear the Medium size.
Its assembly is also shown in a video.
